O Plenário do Senado aprovou a Medida Provisória que reformula o Fundo de Financiamento Estudantil (Fies). A MP segue agora para sanção presidencial.
Entre as principais mudanças, está a exigência, já para 2018, de adesão das faculdades interessadas a um fundo de garantia, além do pagamento das parcelas do financiamento pelo estudante logo após o término do curso. Antes da MP, os alunos tinham uma carência de 18 meses para começar a pagar, após o término da faculdade. Apesar de retirar a carência, o texto prevê juro zero para beneficiários nos contratos assinados a partir de 2018. Alterações dos juros não incidirão sobre contratos firmados antes da mudança.
