A prisão foi um decreto pelo juiz Sérgio Moro, da 13ª Vara da Justiça Federal no Paraná,nesta terça-feira 19. Cunha é conhecido e acusado de destruir de provas que estariam na sua residencia, segundo revelou a Policia Federal.
No despacho em que recebeu a denúncia, Moro fez questão de lembrar que o MPF retirou a acusação de crime eleitoral contra Eduardo Cunha. O motivo, segundo o juiz, foi o fato de que a Justiça Federal não poderia julgar crimes eleitorais. Isso cabe apenas à Justiça Eleitoral.
