A Câmara dos Deputados aprovou na noite desta terça-feira, 3, em plenário, destaque à medida provisória (MP) do Refis prevendo perdão de dívidas tributárias com a Receita Federal de igrejas, entidades religiosas e instituições de ensino vocacional se fins lucrativos.
O trecho, porém, foi retirado durante a votação do texto-base da MP no plenário da Câmara. Após a retirada, o deputado Marcos Soares (DEM-RJ) apresentou destaque para que o perdão fosse incluído no texto novamente. Soares é filho do pastor R.R. Soares, líder da Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus.
O relator da MP do Refis afirmou que o perdão da dívida “corrige” um erro. Segundo ele, essas entidades já seriam imunes à tributação e, por isso, não deveriam ser cobradas. Cardoso Júnior disse que muitas igrejas e instituições já questionam na Justiça a cobrança de dívidas como essas, a maioria delas referentes a Previdência Social de seus funcionários.
