A comissão eleitoral do Sindicato de Trabalhadores e Trabalhadores Rurais Assalariados de Petrolina finalizou a totalização dos votos na madrugada desta terça-feira (21). Como já se esperava a eleição seria muito acirrada pelo desempenho das duas chapas e pela competitividade durante a campanha.
A chapa 02 encabeçada por Simone ganhou a eleição com 1.617 votos contra 1.609 da Chapa 01, que foi composta por Leninha. A diferença nas urnas foi de apenas 08 votos.
Em seu primeiro discurso, Simone Paim aproveitou para agradecer a Deus e todos os companheiros que estiveram na caminhada. “Essa vitória não é só minha, mas sim de todos os trabalhadores e trabalhadoras rurais, independente da chapa que venceu, representamos toda a classe assalariada”, disse.
Simone Paim se posicionou no pleito como a alternativa de esquerda em defesa dos trabalhadores e trabalhadoras rurais, e, ainda, agradeceu os todas as federações e CUT.
