O deputado federal Sóstenes Cavalcante (DEM-RJ) propôs que seja adotada na Câmara a promoção de “reuniões com os cônjuges” dos parlamentares. A ideia, segundo o deputado, é que sejam evitados casos de traições. Cavalcante é um dos deputados da bancada evangélica e, atualmente, está na disputa para se tornar o líder da Frente Parlamentar Evangélica na Câmara dos Deputados.
Segundo o deputado, a medida se trataria de uma prevenção, com o intuito de evitar que os deputados, ou deputadas, longe dos seus respectivos cônjuges, que ficam nos estados de origem do parlamentar, se envolvam em relações extraconjugais, ou seja, evitar traições .
Ao todo, o deputado federal apresentou 16 propostas da campanha. Ele promete ainda um censo nacional sobre quantos são os políticos evangélicos, um planejamento mensal dos cultos a serem realizados no Congresso Nacional e até a defesa da transferência da embaixada de Israel do Brasil para Jerusalém.
O deputado Sóstenes Cavalcante também é autor de um projeto de lei que tem a intenção de submeter professores e alunos de todas as universidades públicas brasileiras a exames toxicológicos para “prevenir o uso de drogas ilícitas”.
Ainda de acordo com Cavalcante , uma espécie de fundo seria criada para bancar as viagens de ida e volta dos cônjuges a Brasília.
Apesar da inusitada proposta para evitar traições levando os cônjuges dos parlamentares a Brasília. Sóstenes também assina na Casa o pedido de uma Comissão Parlamentar de Inquérito (CPI) sobre a tragédia de Brumadinho. A comissão foi pedida pela deputada federal Joice Hasselmann (PSL-SP) em parceria com o deputado do DEM e Carlos Sampaio (PSDB-SP).
