Novo mapa mostra alteração nos limites territoriais de 663 cidades em 16 estados, segundo IBGE
Ao todo, 663 municípios de 16 estados tiveram seus limites alterados entre maio de 2018 e abril de 2019.
O IBGE, Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística, divulgou nesta quarta-feira (20) novos mapas de limites territoriais dos municípios do país.
Ao todo, 663 municípios de 16 estados tiveram seus limites alterados entre maio de 2018 e abril de 2019. As mudanças ocorreram no Ceará, Paraíba, Mato Grosso do Sul, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Tocantins, Alagoas, Sergipe, Goiás, Rio Grande do Norte, Piauí, Espírito Santo, Pernambuco e Pará.
O Ceará é o estado que concentra o maior número de mudanças: 180 no total, seguido da Paraíba, com 158 cidades alteradas.Segundo o IBGE, essas alterações já fazem parte da rotina das populações e já foram incorporadas na estimativa populacional de 2019, usada no cálculo do fundo de participação dos municípios, repasse do governo federal para as administrações locais.
As atualizações têm impacto também na quantidade de habitantes, pois as mudanças fazem com que algumas regiões, e consequentemente seus moradores, passem a integrar cidades vizinhas.
Ainda segundo o Instituto, avanços tecnológicos permitiram melhorar a identificação e a representação da área dos municípios.Além dos ajustes municipais realizados de acordo com as instituições estaduais responsáveis pela divisão político-administrativa, esta última edição destaca o aprimoramento das linhas de fronteira do Brasil no estado de Roraima com os países vizinhos e as atualizações nas divisas estaduais entre Tocantins, Goiás e Bahia.
Também ganhou destaque, ainda de acordo com o IBGE, o ajuste no traçado dos limites entre a Bahia e Sergipe.
