O Ministério do Planejamento informou nesta segunda-feira (30) que o governo baixou novamente a previsão para o salário mínimo de 2018, passando de R$ 969 para R$ 965.
A estimativa consta da mensagem modificativa da proposta de orçamento de 2018, que ainda será enviada ao Congresso Nacional. Nesta mensagem, o governo informará ter elevado a previsão de gastos em R$ 44,5 bilhões.
A estimativa para o salário mínimo do proximo ano já havia sido reduzida em agosto, de R$ 979 para R$ 969. Atualmente, o salário mínimo está em R$ 937.
Cerca de 45 milhões de pessoas no Brasil recebem salário mínimo, entre aposentados e pensionistas, cujos benefícios são, ao menos em parte, pagos pelo governo federal.
Com o salário mínimo menor, portanto, o governo economizará nas despesas com o pagamento desses benefícios. A expectativa do Ministério do Planejamento é de economizar R$ 1,2 bilhão com a revisão do salário mínimo para baixo.
