Suplente de deputado, ele assume e deixa o mandato toda vez que os ministros Mendonça Filho (DEM-PE) e Bruno Araújo (PSDB-PE), licenciados da Câmara, deixam o Executivo para votar assuntos de interesses do governo Michel Temer. De maio de 2016 até agora, foram mais seis vezes. “É a vida de um suplente, sempre na iminência de sair”, disse o deputado.
Primo do ministro Fernando Bezerra Filho (Minas e Energia), Guilherme Coelho afirmou que tentará se eleger em 2018. Espera, na suplência, conseguir mais votos para deixar essa vida dificil de substituto para trás.
