Liderando as pesquisas de intenções de voto, o governador Paulo Câmara (PSB), candidato à reeleição, foi o alvo preferencial, direta ou indiretamente, dos adversários no debate entre os postulantes ao Governo de Pernambuco, promovido pela TV Clube, na noite da última sexta-feira. Este foi o primeiro debate em televisão de que o ex-prefeito Julio Lossio (Rede) participou neste pleito. Na ocasião, Maurício Rands (PROS), Dani Portela (PSOL) e Lossio protagonizaram disputa à margem da rivalidade entre o socialista e o senador Armando Monteiro Neto (PTB).
Em sua primeira pergunta, Câmara cutucou Monteiro em relação ao seu desempenho parlamentar, destacando que o petebista votou pela retirada da autonomia de Suape, pela PEC do teto de gasto e pela reforma trabalhista. Surpreendendo o adversário, Monteiro devolveu usando o ex-governador Eduardo Campos, morto em 2014. “Depois de 12 anos de atuação parlamentar, ele (Eduardo) me apresentou a Pernambuco como seu candidato ao Senado. E você votou em mim, Paulo, em 2010, a não ser que não acatou a recomendação do seu chefe na época”, declarou.
A partir daí os candidatos se alternaram para criticar Câmara. Ao falar do zika vírus, Dani frisou que o Estado era omisso na política pública de saneamento. Rands disse que o governador precisava parar de repetir os discursos do marqueteiro. “A impressão que eu tenho é que você fica acreditando no discurso do marqueteiro baiano”, disse ele, em alusão ao publicitário Fernando Barros. Em tom de ironia, Lossio fez alusão aos padrinhos políticos. “A partir de 1º de janeiro, quem vai estar no Palácio (das Princesas) não é Lula, não é Eduardo Campos, não é Dilma, não é Marina. Quero dizer ao povo de Pernambuco: não terceirize esse direito”, afirmou. Depois de muitas críticas, Câmara se defendeu. “A gente viu candidatos que não têm experiência na administração pública falando de temas que não conhecem”, retrucou.
