Na época, o artista chegou a ficar internado no Centro de Terapia Intensiva do Quinta D’Or. Em maio, Melodia passou pela cirurgia de medula.
Enquanto esteve internado, o cantor ainda teve uma perda material: sua casa foi invadida por quatro bandidos encapuzados, que amarraram o filho do cantor e seu amigo. Eles levaram computadores e telefones da família, além de outros pertences. Segundo a mulher do cantor, Jane Reis, o acervo histórico com os detalhes da carreira profissional do artista foi perdido. Na ação, os criminosos ainda levaram uma maquininha de cartão de crédito e obrigou o amigo do filho do músico a passar o cartão no equipamento, como se estivesse efetuando uma compra.

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
