A campanha da deputada federal Marília Arraes (Solidariedade) ao governo de Pernambuco cunhou a expressão “Leoa do Norte” para ela.
A ideia do publicitário Edson Barbosa, que vem tocando a pré-campanha, é retratá-la na propaganda eleitoral como uma mulher destemida, que não se acovarda perante os clãs políticos locais ou o grupo que domina a política pernambucana há mais de uma década, liderado pelo PSB.
Marília rompeu no mês passado com o PT em razão de ter se sentido preterida na formação da chapa local. Ela tinha planos de ser candidata ao Senado. Embora em novo partido, a deputada mantém o apoio à candidatura presidencial de Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
