A Câmara dos Deputados analisa a possibilidade de instituir a prestação de serviço comunitário como pena alternativa à multa de trânsito. A sugestão foi apresentada pelo deputado Carlos Bezerra (PMDB-MT) por meio do Projeto de Lei 5728/16.
A proposta altera o Código de Trânsito Brasileiro (Lei 9.503/97), na parte que trata das penalidades para as infrações. Atualmente, as punições previstas no código são advertência por escrito, multa, suspensão do direito de dirigir, apreensão do veículo, cassação da carteira de motorista, cassação da permissão para dirigir e participação obrigatória em curso de reciclagem.
A prestação de serviço comunitário prevista no projeto de Bezerra seria realizada em entidade de atendimento a vítimas de acidentes de trânsito. Segundo o texto, nos casos em que for aplicada multa, o infrator poderá requerer a sua substituição pela prestação de serviço, de acordo com normas e critérios a serem definidos pelo Conselho Nacional de Trânsito (Contran).
Segundo informações do portal de notícias da Câmara dos Deputados, o projeto tramita em caráter conclusivo e será analisado pelas comissões de Viação e Transportes; e de Constituição, Justiça e Cidadania.
