Depois de 40 anos prestando um (des) serviços à população através da assinatura de um contrato bilionário de concessão do saneamento, acusações de irregularidades e muita política, enfim, uma decisão do Supremo assinada pelo presidente do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), ministro Ricardo Lewandowsk, muda os rumos dessa celeuma e autoriza o municipio de Petrolina a quebrar o contrato com a Compesa. O contrato tinha faturamento estimado em R$ 2,8 bilhões e previa R$ 428 milhões em investimentos, em 30 anos.
“O contrato perdeu o sentido porque a empresa não cumpriu as metas. Ora, a Compesa deu um atestado de incompetência quando assinou a PPP do saneamento. Se ela não dá conta do serviço no Recife, fiscalizada de perto pelo olho do governador, imagina a 800 quilômetros da capital? Queremos ser donos do que é nosso. Isso não é invencionice, essa luta não é de partidos, e sim do povo de petrolina que merece ser bem tratado.Sabemos que há muita pressão do Estado. Acho que a política pode interferir, mas está parecendo mais uma questão de honra, de a Compesa não perder o sistema de Petrolina”, afirma Lóssio- Prefeito de Petrolina.
