Com o tema ‘Segurança Hídrica é potencial de desenvolvimento’, a segunda edição da feira de frutas produzida na área de sequeiros do município Petrolina (PE) foi realizada ontem (1º), na Escola Dom Antônio Malan, Sítio Lajedo.
O evento mostrou a importância econômica do sistema irrigado para os agricultores da área de sequeiro. A exposição foi organizada pelo Conselho de Usuários da Água do Sistema Perenizado (Consupontal), em parceria com o Sindicato dos Agricultores Familiares (Sintraf).
A Presidente do Sintraf de Petrolina, Isalia Damacena, falou sobre a importância do evento e frisou que a Expo Pontal serve para demonstrar a importância que o Riacho Perenizado tem para essas famílias. “É através deste evento que discutimos melhorias para os nossos agricultores, a água é muito importante para a produção deles é justamente por isso que precisamos manter as famílias abastecidas com água, através daqui saem muitas produções”, disse.
O evento contou com a participação do Prefeito de Petrolina, Simão Durando, , vereadores, representantes da Univasf, Secretaria Municipal de Agricultura, e lideranças locais.
