“Não estou aqui para julgar uma atriz que faz campanha enrolada em um papel higiênico preto. Cada um faz e aceita o trabalho que melhor lhe convém“, explicou a atriz, fazendo referência a Marina Ruy Barbosa. Ela relembrou uma ida ao Estados Unidos que a fez entender melhor o movimento, que a criticou por encenar uma peça em que usava uma peruca lisa.
“Um grupo de militantes negros ficou chocado. Era o auge do ‘Black is Beautiful’, e a gente tinha que manter as características originais da raça”, relatou. Ela contou ainda que a convivência a ajudou a se aceitar como negra e refletir sobre seu comportamento e as questões raciais no Brasil.
“Reparava que os negros americanos andavam de cabeça erguida. Não tinha essa postura subserviente que eu sentia no Brasil e em mim mesma. Essa viagem teve essa importância de fazer com que eu enxergasse meu país de fora. Voltei ao Brasil. E cheguei pensando: Agora ninguém me segura”, contou.
“Para uns pode parecer bobagem, mas para mim e para milhares de negras que viveram em plena década de 70, ‘Black is Beautiful’ foi algo extraordinário, passamos a nos aceitar, a nos empoderar. E não posso achar interessante uma campanha de papel higiênico preto (tá, tudo bem, sem nenhum problema, pois preto é uma cor, até aí, nenhuma ‘criatividade’ como essa me choca mais), ser VENDIDA COMO BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL. RESPEITO, POR FAVOR”, completou.
Marina Ruy Barbosa também voltou a falar do assunto. Depois de apagar o primeiro post sobre o tema, ela publicou nesta terça (24) um pedido de desculpas em nome da marca. “Lamento profundamente que algumas pessoas tenham interpretado o trabalho publicitário da Santher de forma diferente do que foi idealizado. Tenho certeza de que essa nunca tenha sido a intenção da marca e das pessoas que criaram esta ação, a de seguir por este caminho polêmico ou desrespeitar qualquer tipo de pessoa”, escreveu.
A frase foi removida de todos os materiais da campanha depois da repercussão negativa.
