TRE-PE proíbe atos presenciais de campanha que causem aglomeração em todo o Estado
Pernambuco e o Brasil, assim como outros Estados e países, vivem, atualmente, sob a ameaça da chamada “segunda onda” da Covid-19. “O TRE, com a decisão de hoje, mostra o seu compromisso com a saúde e a vida dos cidadãos e cidadãs pernambucanos”, disse o presidente do Tribunal, desembargador Frederico Neves.
Diante do aumento de casos de contaminação pelo novo coronavírus e preocupado em preservar vidas, o Tribunal Regional Eleitoral de Pernambuco (TRE-PE) determinou, na noite desta quinta-feira (29), a proibição, em Pernambuco, de todos os atos presenciais de campanha eleitoral causadores de aglomeração. Estão suspensos, portanto, em todos os 184 municípios do Estado, eventos como comícios, bandeiraços, passeatas, caminhadas, carreatas e similares, além de confraternizações, inclusive para arrecadação de recursos de campanha. A proibição se estende a eventos no modelo drive-thru e drive-in.

A Corte Eleitoral de Pernambuco aprovou a decisão por 6 a 0 (houve uma abstenção). A proposta de proibição dos atos presenciais de campanha foi apresentada em Resolução pelo presidente do TRE-PE, desembargador Frederico Neves (Clique aqui e leia Resolução).
Ao apresentar a proposta de resolução, o presidente do TRE-PE levou em consideração, entre outros fatores, que, na prática, o controle do distanciamento social, do uso de máscaras e de outras precauções tem se revelado absolutamente ineficaz nos atos de campanha eleitoral. A prova de que as ações do Poder Público não estão surtindo efeito são os vários vídeos de aglomerações que vêm sendo veiculados na imprensa e nas redes sociais.
Resolução
A resolução também aponta, em seus “considerandos”, dois pontos que merecem ser destacados. Primeiro: A conjuntura de extrema gravidade e incertezas decorrente da pandemia da covid-19 está por exigir postura responsável de todos e, sobretudo, daqueles que almejam ocupar cargos nos Poderes Legislativo e Executivo, responsáveis pela definição e execução de políticas públicas, bem assim da própria Justiça Eleitoral. E o mais importante: a preservação da vida, que está acima de tudo, exige a contribuição de todos.
