Justiça Eleitoral cassa mandato do deputado Marcelo Crivella
A Justiça considerou que ele abusou de seu poder político ao usar servidores públicos municipais para impedir o trabalho de jornalistas que cobriam a situação dos serviços de saúde municipais durante a pandemia de covid-19
A juíza Márcia Santos Capanema de Souza, da 23ª Zona Eleitoral do Rio de Janeiro, decretou a cassação do mandato do deputado federal Marcelo Crivella e sua inelegibilidade até 2028, por abuso de poder político em 2020. Na época, Crivella era prefeito do Rio e buscava a reeleição.
Segundo a juíza, o emprego desses servidores violou o direito dos cidadãos à informação e liberdade de imprensa “tendo em vista o interesse de evitar a repercussão negativa daquelas informações sobre a candidatura à reeleição” do então candidato.
Em suas redes sociais, Crivella publicou uma nota divulgada pelo seu partido, o Republicanos. Na nota, o partido diz que a decisão, de 8 de maio, não tem efeito imediato e que, portanto, Crivella continua deputado federal.
O Republicanos afirma, ainda, que a cassação do mandato de um deputado federal não cabe a uma juíza eleitoral de primeira instância que, segundo o partido, “não possui competência legal para isso, sobretudo, porque os fatos, objeto do processo, se referem ao pleito de 2020”.
O partido se disse confiante de que os recursos já apresentados ao Tribunal Regional Eleitoral (TRE-RJ) serão “devidamente analisados, considerando as instâncias adequadas do processo”.
